Teaching & Learning Committees
FACTL Committee
The Faculty Advisory Committee for Teaching and Learning (FACTL), headed by the Vice Provost (Education), comprises members from the six schools. The primary role of FACTL is to:
- Advise on CTE's initiatives, providing inputs and feedback to ensure that the infrastructure and processes that will facilitate all aspects of teaching and learning are in place; and
- Motivate the continuous acquisition and enhancement of teaching and learning skills among SMU faculty members.

DRTL Committee
The University Curriculum Committee (UCC), chaired by the Associate Provost (Undergraduate Education) and comprising Associate Deans from each school, provides strategic leadership in steering, implementing and monitoring Emergency Preparedness (DRTL) measures in SMU. Representatives from Centre for English Communication (CEC), Integrated Information Technology Services (IITS) and Centre for Teaching Excellence (CTE) also provide inputs at regular UCC meetings.
