Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) at SMU
🔒 For SMU Instructors
CTE supports faculty in developing and implementing digital approaches to teaching.
Access SMU-supported digital tools for instructors and explore Open Educational Resources (OERs) (freely available or openly licensed materials) all designed to support teaching and learning.”
Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL)
At SMU, technology is used to support how learning is designed and experienced.
The TEL framework shown below reflects our view of students as individuals, as collaborators, and as members of a wider community.
It guides how digital tools are used to:
support personalised learning
enable collaboration and interaction
connect learning to real-world contexts through projects, inquiry, and participation
Together, these approaches help create learning experiences that are more engaging, flexible, and relevant.
TEL & EDGE Projects
TEL Projects
Together with CTE, faculty have developed a range of digital resources, including simulations, games, and interactive materials to support critical thinking and problem-solving.
Games developed through the TEL grant are often accompanied by case materials and teaching notes to support classroom use. These are available below.
EDGE Projects
EdTech Greenhouse (EDGE) incubates selected TEL initiatives, transforming them into scalable, campus-wide solutions with supporting resources.
Projects are developed through collaboration between CTE, IITS, and Schools to enhance teaching and learning impact. EDGE Projects below are denoted with the (EDGE) keyword in the project title.
