Engaging students using Classroom Response Systems

This CTE session introduces Classroom Response Systems (CRS) as a way to drive more inclusive, technology-mediated classroom conversations. Participants will examine how regular classroom discourse is often limited by turn-taking and unequal participation, and how CRS can broaden the “feedback expressway” by enabling all students to respond and participate directly. The session will also connect CRS use to active learning strategies (e.g., call-and-response, think-pair-share, buzz groups) and discuss how CRS can help instructors better gauge student understanding and engagement.
