Library-CTE Workshop: Discovering Open Resources for Teaching & Learning

A growing culture of sharing in higher education along with Creative Commons licensing has enabled instructors to make their content openly available for other instructors to adopt, re-use, and share. This has led to a wealth of Open Educational Resources (OERs) including textbooks, cases, interactive media, and other digital learning objects which can be adopted to facilitate blended learning.

CTE and SMU Libraries invite you to participate in this workshop where you will have the opportunity to discover the various platforms such as MERLOT and CloudSource OA, for open resources to potentially incorporate into your course. Melody Chin, Research Librarian and Coordinator, Faculty Teaching Support, will also provide an overview of Creative Commons licenses and best practices for contributing your own OER as an SMU Instructor.
