Faculty Development Support
To support you in implementing the programme-level redesign, the Centre for Teaching Excellence is putting in place a coordinated faculty development programme. This will be progressively delivered from 2026 and consists of the following components:
|
AI for Teaching and Learning Microsite Consolidates SMU’s philosophy, frameworks, guidelines, pathways, and resources in one place |
AI for Teaching and Learning Essentials Compulsory modules mounted on eLearn; to be completed by all faculty |
|
AI Workshops Addresses different facets of AI in education, with practical tips for implementation |
Bespoke School Workshops School-specific workshops scoped in discussion with schools, potentially tied to programme redesign |
Public Lectures Lectures by disciplinary AI experts to build faculty awareness of AI developments across fields |
Faculty Pathways
Recognising that instructors bring different levels of experience and interest in applying AI to teaching and learning, faculty development resources will be organised into structured yet flexible progression pathways. They are designed to support confident, appropriate use of AI, while accounting for diverse disciplinary contexts.
