Resource-Event-Agent (REA) Data Model

Project Description

The REA Model learning object is a self-paced digital resource developed for the Accounting Information Systems course to support self-directed learning.

The learning object helps students consolidate their understanding of the REA Data Model, a model in the Accounting Information Systems used to define and analyse data requirements needed to support the business processes of an organisation. Through the simulation of the transactions of a Yogurt Shop, students go through a step-by-step process of identifying and applying the REA data model.

Teaching Strategy

Instructors embed questions within the animated case study to enable students to self-check their understanding of the REA data model. At the end of each section, students will be required to apply what they have learned in a scenario. At the end of the learning object, students will be required to apply the various concepts they have learned to a new case study.
