CTE organised a series of workshops and ideation sessions for SMU instructors interested in teaching in Blended Learning format. The workshop series, titled "Ignite BL: Hands-On and Ideation Series (March 2026)" comprises of a flexible series of workshops and ideation sessions, allowing instructors to choose sessions that best align with their interests and teaching context as they implement blended learning in their courses.
Each small-group, 90-minute session focuses on a specific skill or interest area and includes hands-on activities, practical demonstrations, and guided application to help instructors confidently implement blended learning strategies in your course(s).
The workshop and ideation series include the following options:
- Recording Narrated PowerPoint Lesson for Asynchronous Online Delivery
For instructors who intend to record narration or a talking-head video for an existing lesson slide deck. - Creating a Seamless Flow of Interactive Online Content and Activities on eLearn
For instructors who would like to line up online materials that they may already have (e.g., videos, formative quizzes, discussion tasks, or activities) to create a seamless learning experience. - Creating Digital Twin to Complement Asynchronous Online Delivery
For instructors who would like to add teaching presence by incorporating AI-generated avatars into their online learning sequence. - Developing Interactive Virtual Avatars for Reasoning-based Online Learning Activities
For instructors who would like to develop interactive conversational reasoning-based activity related to the case, scenario you have identified. - Integrating Industry-Linked Content into the Course
For instructors who have identified a topic where authentic industry perspectives or case inputs could be incorporated and would like to explore the support CTE provides in developing the industry-linked content and learning activities.
